Raspberry Pi 4
Harness the full potential of your nano-computer

The Raspberry Pi 4, Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and Raspberry Pi 3A+ are covered in this book. No pre-requisites in Linux or electronics are necessary. As the programs developed are largely commented, a first approach of the Python language is desirable, but not essential. After a physical presentation of the different models of Raspberry Pi, you will be guided to quickly install the operating system of your choice on a micro SD card and make your Raspberry Pi operational. The use of NOOBS is explained in detail. The presentation of the new graphical desktop of Raspbian Buster is followed by the use of Linux in command line. The main commands needed to operate a Raspberry Pi under GNU/Linux are discussed. The description of the GPIO is followed by a technical presentation of the components used in the book (Breadboard, resistor, push button, LED, RGB LED, addressable LED, servo motor, rotary encoder, analog acquisition board). Each component is then implemented using Python scripts and the gpiozero library. Concrete projects to be realized allow the reader to use this material following a specification. The construction of a weather station is an opportunity to use an anemometer, a wind vane, a rain gauge and various sensors (temperature, humidity, pressure). The transmission of data via Sigfox or LoRa will be discussed as well as the sharing of these data in a weather network. The measurements taken by the weather station are first displayed in text mode and then sent to an InfluxDB database before being displayed as curves in the Chronograf program.
