The objective of this book is to provide the reader with beginner a solid foundation for exploring the resources offered by the Raspberry Pi both from the operating system point of view and from the development and physical interfacing point of view. The models Raspberry Pi 3 and Raspberry Pi 0 are covered in this book. No prerequisites in Linux, programming or electronics are required.
After a physical presentation of the Raspberry Pi, you will have an overview of the operating systems compatible with this computer. You will be guided to quickly install the operating system of your choice of your choice on a micro SD card and make your Raspberry Pi operational. The use of NOOBSa tool for installing a system, recovering the micro SD card and managing the multiboot is explained in detail. The presentation of the new graphic desktop of Raspbian Jessie PIXEL is followed by the use of Linux in command line. After an introduction to the networkyou will learn how to connect remotely on the Raspberry Pi with VNC. You will see how to use external mass storage devices (USB key, USB hard disk) and how to start the Raspberry Pi without a micro SD card card on an external storage medium. You will learn how to use the development environments available for the available for the Raspberry Pi: in Scratch and in Python. The description of the GPIO followed by examples ofuse of the input/output ports ports of the Raspberry Pi and the implementation of interface cards opens the door to applications where Raspberry Pi interacts with the physical world. You will learn how to turn your Raspberry Pi into a desktop station with the LibreOffice(editing and printing), as a media-center with LibreELECas a web server with lighttpd and WordPress or as a video surveillance camera capable of detect a movement and notify you by alert you by email.
Finally, in the chapter on troubleshooting, you will discover how to establish a first diagnosis in case of malfunctioning as well as the solutions to implement.

Pas déçu par le livre (niveau débutant à plus poussé il y en a pour tous les goûts), l'approche est bien progressive. J'aurais aimé un focus Pi4 mais je comprends qu'on ne réédite pas un livre à chaque nouveau matos.
