TheArduino Uno SMD edition is an easy-to-use prototyping platform based on an ATmega328 SMD microcontroller.
It will allow the creation of interactive objects or environments.
TheArduino can handle complex interactions between all kinds of sensors and driven motors, leds, light installations or computers.
The micro-controller is easily programmable in a multi-platform environment. TheArduino can be used alone or interfaced with computer based programs such as Flash, Processing, MaxMSP, etc.

TheArduino Uno is equipped with "pinout 1.0" connectors:
- Addition of two connectors SDA and SCL close to AREF in the extension of the 10 points connector.
- Addition of two connectors close to RESET in the extension of the 8 points connector, the IOREF allows the shield to adapt to the voltage delivered by the card.
The shields are compatible with cards using the AVR which works with 5V.
The additional connector near IOREF is reserved for future features.
TheArduino Uno also features a more robust RESET circuit and the Atmega 16U2 component.
