The Compute Module 3 (CM3) from Raspberry Pi is a system-on-modules (SoMs) containing processor, memory and supporting power circuits. These modules allow a designer to leverage the hardware and software stack from Raspberry Pi in their own custom systems and form factors. In addition, the modules have additional IO interfaces beyond what is available on the A/B model boards Raspberry Pi, offering more options for the designer.
This simplicity promotes rapid development. The Compute Module 3 contains the following components in a 200-pin SODIMM design:
- Broadcom BCM2837 processor
- 1Gbyte LPDDR2 RAM
- 35u gold-plated IO pins
